The SES Parish Book Club discusses one book per month and meets in the Conference Center, the one-story original building on the lower part of the campus, second Tuesdays at 7:00 pm and second Saturdays at 10:30 am.
Next meetings are October 8th and October 12th; come to whichever one fits your schedule. More info: call Karla @ 760-929-0609. Encourage others to enter their e-mail address at SESParishBookClub.org.
Crack open our first book selection, The Jesuit Guide to Almost Everything by James Martin, S.J. We’ll focus on chapters 2, 4, 5, 7, 11, and 12.
The Society of Jesus is a hot topic with our new Pope Francis, and the Jesuit founder St. Ignatius has a lot to say about how to bring Christ into our daily lives and decisions. And that’s what this book is about.
If you’ve ever wanted more ideas on how to pray and exercise your spirituality once you step outside the church walls, you will find something in this book — and you may want to share it with our non-Catholic friends in Christ and those who haven’t heard the Good News too.
One thing, this is not the shortest book in the world. Please read and come happy to discuss the chapters that call to you most right now.
Happy Reading!
Suggestions for future titles welcome!
