Next Parish Book Club Meeting is Saturday January 17th

strange godsHello Fellow Readers,

Please note a one-time move from the second to the third Saturday in January. We will discuss Strange Gods: Unmasking the Idols in Everyday Life by Elizabeth Scalia on the 17th.

Why the change? To give us a little time after Christmas and because you might interested in hearing Scott Hahn et. al. right here in San Diego on the 9th / 10th: http://www.jpcatholic.com/Biblical_Conference.php

Most of you have heard the announcement; we are condensing the meetings to just one Saturday per month.

Be sure to check the website for the list of books through April.

Thanks everyone for your support, and Happy Reading in 2015!

November 2014 Book Club Selection “When the Church Was Young”

whenthechurchwasyoungMeeting Saturday Nov 8th at 11:00 am or come Tuesday Nov 11th at 7:00 pm in the one-story Conference Center.

This is book is a bit longer than others, so as we’ve discussed, feel free to skip to even-numbered chapters only.

My view is that this is like “meeting the family” for the first time: a chance to get acquainted, and a reference point for when many of these theologians and saints will come up again in future reading.

Happy Reading and see you soon, Karla
